On behalf of the PHL Dept and Prof Pedeferri, we want to encourage you to consider enrolling in Ephemeris (PHL 088, 3 term practicum): Ephemeris is a world-renowned undergraduate journal of philosophy and one of the oldest undergraduate philosophy journals in the world. It is dedicated to harvesting exceptional undergraduate writing. Since its founding in 2001, Ephemeris has published contributions from students from across the nation and the world; a recent issue included w...ork from students in Holland, the UK and Canada. Our Journal is now run by Union students, who evaluate the contributions submitted (usually around 70 every year), select the best papers for publication, engage in the editing process, design and prepare the layout for the Journal, and send it out for printing. This practicum allows current students to be involved in the editing and reviewing process for the selection of papers that will be published in the next issue of Ephemeris. Though this is a challenging time with lots of unknowns, the long history and uniqueness of the journal and its importance for Union and the department is unparalleled and as such, the course will go on as usual but will be online with a very flexible schedule. This year we worked with the library to move the journal online and they provided access to their professional managing software that manages all the work-flow of the journal. This adds a level of real-word working skills for students who enroll. For any inquiries, please send an email to [email protected]
