Student Ambassador Alex Taub shares about his experience with The Economist: Your role? - I was hired to sell discounted Economist magazine subscriptions I was very passionate about driving the educational value of the subscription and how it would help you in school. Your pay? - I was paid on an awesome commission basis I not only made money but this model allowed me to earn what I worked for and accomplished.... Overall - This was the best sales experience I’ve ever had. I will speak about this opportunity for the rest of my college career and post-graduation.

The website gains a lot of exposure from ambassadors we’re constantly uploading pictures and videos on social media highlighting healthy living and workouts. Would you recommend this position?: Considering how much college students LOVE free things, I have become pretty good friends with a lot of people on-campus that I would never have met if I did not start my ambassadorship. Since starting, I have improved my knowledge of the fitness industry, have built up my social network and have become a better salesman for Bodybuilding.com

The Economist Campus Ambassadors constantly challenge themselves to go beyond expectations and to reach new heights when promoting the brand. These students produce informative and eye-catching social media posts, execute campus tabling events, and organize presentations to share their work with their communities. By serving as Campus Ambassadors, these students are able to increase professional communication skills and build upon a working knowledge of sales and marketing t...echniques to continue contributing to the success of The Economist. While the experience is highly formative for the Ambassadors, the benefits run both ways. By engaging their personal networks, some students have effectively sold over three times more subscriptions to The Economist than were expected of them during the ten weeks they served as Ambassadors. University Beyond encourages students to take advantage of this opportunity to work with The Economist, as it serves as incredible preparation for a career in marketing and/or sales.
