Troy Prep students came back and traveled through The Flight of Locks this weekend! A few first timers too :)
Couple of great days paddling with Troy Prep School (students even got to experience paddling inside Lock E2!)
People struggle, fight and stick together and do amazing things to help support each other and raise money in hope to find a cure. I was honored again once today to be apart of and transport these amazing Mesothelioma survivors through the Flight of Locks and up the Champlain canal. Thank you all who paddled today and thank you to these amazing survivors for sharing your stories with me. See you all next year! Xo Linda Wells - congratulations paddling the whole journey!
There’s still time to register (& tent a kayak)...paddle through the Flight of Locks AND support a cause for Mesothelioma
Another great year for the Siena College international student outing!!
Attached is an article definitely worth reading. Kayaking for many is priceless, enjoyable, relaxing and a great family outing. Who doesn’t love an enjoyable day on the water! However, sometimes Lake kayaking (and even river kayaking) can be dangerous because motor boats can drive anywhere and water conditions can change. Being aware of your surroundings and always paddling close to shore is a must. Most of our locations are on rivers. When paddling on our canals (or river...s) there’s a channel which is an organized roadway for motor boats. This is why we repeatedly tell our river kayakers to ALWAYS paddle close to the shoreline and to stay OUT of the middle of the rivers (the channel). We want our kayakers to enjoy our local waterways safely. Safe kayaking is no different than riding a bike - be smart and aware about where you’re paddling. So as a repeated safety reminder to all of our renters (and followers): Always paddle close to shore and be conscious of motorized boaters. https://poststar.com//article_8c84c0be-c8bc-5a63-a5a2-b0b9
