Upstate NY Boomers

Here's something you don't see every day: A couple of Boomers made up the battery in a Camillus Softball and Baseball Association game tonight. Emma was the catcher and Sarah was the pitcher for the A's in a Cal Ripken house game. It's at least the third time Sarah has pitched to Emma in a game -- Toronto and Hoboken were others -- but this the first time they were the only girls on the field. Great job, ladies!

Hey Boomers families! We hope everyone is healthy and hanging in there. We miss seeing you all on Sunday nights -- and getting the chance to meet our new players! We've been trying to figure out how we can hold a season this year and what it might look like. At this point, we're thinking we won't do anything formal that requires payment, so we won't have hats or uniforms. What we will do is try to get together on some Sunday nights in the summer/fall and just play baseball and have fun. We will be in touch as we have a clearer picture of how to proceed. Can't wait to see everyone back on the field!

It seems so long ago, but one year ago today, the Boomers had their first practice. Our numbers grew and grew and grew that first season, and it was great to meet so many girls. We'll always fondly remember that first practice and the girls who attended. We hope to see all of you again soon.

Baseball for All offers so many amazing opportunities for girls. We're hoping that in Sarah's new role she'll be able to bring more girls together to play baseball.
