While many of these challenges can be overcome with the right help, the pandemic has made those resources nearly impossible for new mothers to access. Outside of hospitals, almost every form of face-to-face support that new mothers can normally turn tobreastfeeding groups, in-home visits from trained specialistshas disappeared. While there are options online for new mothers to turn to for support, they can often be hard to troubleshoot over a video or online forum, leaving women to figure things out for themselvesor not, according to research conducted. In one month a collective of volunteer Black birth workers for the Black community in the Bronx called out for contributions to an investment in our communitie...s, our families our futures-- we are overcome with hope and gratitude because of how much we’ve raised in just one month. The time is now to divest from systems that harm and marginalize our families, and commit to sustained giving in community support. We can do this. With an average donation of 40 dollars, we were able to support 89 families. Approximately 65.7% of requests are for diapers About 9.4% are for wipes About 6.2% for food About 3.1% for children’s clothing Want to keep investing in our vision for a Bronx reborn?
