Pita the official mascot of @holypitanyc pita gets trained today. Pita is a rescue from Sean Casey and is a sweet girl but needs to learn some boundaries and appropriate jobs for herself. We worked on her stays and leave it and come so she can have freedom in the shop and continue eating chicken Schwarma for lunch. She is a rescue from Sean Casey and is now living the life. Odin finished up his day training program in Park Slope and he’s all smiles. His parents learned training can be fun and Odin learned behaving gets him rewarded. Odin started the program with leash reactivity because he actually loves dogs so much. He would spin, lunge and bark to try and play with dogs. He is now walking past dogs and looking at his parents and his obedience has improved tremendously. He even had learned to disengage and return at the dog park though this needs continued work from his owners. Beau is a ten week English Labrador living it up in Sag Harbor. He is going to eventually be splitting his time between the city and Long Island , so we were happy to get the ball rolling. Summer’s almost over, and although we are busy it’s so rewarding to take some time to make memories with our beloved dogs. Taking hikes, going for a swim or a socially-distanced road trip can help your bond & the structure of your relationship with your dog. Dogs appreciate play as a reward which motivates them to maintain their boundaries in your daily life. We MUST make spending time with them a priority. On a quick weekend away trainer Natasha had her pups, Luca & Twigg...y practice lots of structured walking in new public spaces, recall on hikes & at the lake, and place stays at a home they were previously unfamiliar with.
