Join us in congratulating Dr. Harvey Alter on receiving a Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. He did his medical training here, as a student at University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry and his research led to discovery of the Hepatitis C virus. That advance opened doors to new therapies and tests that saved millions of lives.
Kristi Taylor could barely climb a flight of stairs while she was being treated for late-stage Hodgkin’s lymphoma at Wilmot Cancer Institute. When she regained her health and strength, Kristi began tackling physical challenges to mark her cancerversary. She’s inspired others by swimming across Cayuga Lake one year and climbing Debar Mountain in the Adirondacks. This year, her plan was modified for safety, but no less challenging -- an aggressive workout at her home near Ithaca. Congratulations, Kristi!
