This past week we celebrated National Pharmacy Week! Our team of three pharmacy professionals have collectively served at St. James Hospital for 72 years! They are experts in the use of today’s complex medications, follow extraordinary safety measures, and deliver medications in a timely and efficient way. We thank you for your service!
Today, several of our community partners hosted a drive-thru school supplies give away at Hornell, Canisteo and Arkport schools to support remote learning. Big thanks to HPG, YMCA, Elderwood, Canisteo Police Club, Walmart, Wegmans, Catholic Charities and Hornell City School District.

Today was Tom Dugo's last day as Interim Materials Management Director. As a final send off our staff showed support by wearing their favorite flannel, which Tom can always be spotted in. We can't thank Tom enough for coming out of retirement to help us transition to the new Hospital as well as leading our supply chain through the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

IMPORTANT NEWS As of 4pm on Friday, October 16 St. James is implementing a no visitor policy due to the the growing number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the greater Hornell area and Steuben County. The new no-visitor restriction applies to our inpatient unit. Visitor restrictions are still in place for patients coming to the emergency department, or for tests and procedures. This week we're celebrating National Healthcare Foodservice Workers Week. This honors our 14 dedicated team members who collectively have served our hospital and community for 120 years! Every day, our tremendous Nutrition staff provide wholesome meals that contribute to the healing of our patients and to the enjoyment of our staff. In fact, over the last year they served a total of 46,286 meals.
Our employees are gearing up for flu season by getting their flu shot! This year it is especially important to get vaccinated and protect yourself and our community from the flu. Be a flu fighter and get vaccinated today!
