The Unitarian Universalist Association joins leaders across this country in calling for the immediate removal of Donald Trump as U.S. President.

We, the people of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Saratoga Springs, unequivocally condemn the terrorist attack on our US Capitol on Wednesday, January 6, 2021. We condemn any and all attempts to overturn the results of a democratic election. As Unitarian Universalists, we affirm and promote the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large. We witness and condemn the actions of President Trump which incited mob violence at the cap...itol. We witness and condemn the actions of President Trump and his supporters to invent and perpetuate falsehoods as a tool to sow distrust. As the liberation theologian Jon Sobrino, SJ, has said, a healthy spirituality requires being honest with the real. We witness and condemn the hypocrisy of our militarized and white supremacist policing system, which reacts with extreme violence to people of color peacefully protesting, while allowing white supremacists to commit literal domestic terrorism against our government. As our UUA President Susan Frederick Grey has said, "As Unitarian Universalists, it is important to remember that our commitment to democracy is not just political or moral, it is fundamentally theological. It grows from our affirmation of the inherent worth and dignity of every person and the Universalist understanding that we are all part of one creation, interconnected. These theological values of human dignity and interdependence are why we know everyone needs a voice in the matters that affect their lives. We are prepared to join in collective, moral, faithful action to defend our democracy. We recommit ourselves to seeking truth, even when those truths are inconvenient or unsettling. We recommit ourselves to honesty, integrity, and compassion. We call on all of our country's leaders and institutions to do the same. Rev. Joe Cleveland, Minister, and the Board of Trustees on behalf of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Saratoga Springs

Protecting public health does not violate the free practice of religion. The free practice of religion requires protecting public health. https://nyti.ms/39icuy8

We condemn the continued terrorizing of humanitarian aid workers and migrants seeking care at the No More Deaths/No Más Muertes camp on Arizona's border with Mexico.
