Vera- Buffalo

Time to lean, time to clean. In this business we are taught to check our emotions at the door, put on a smile and WORK. Any free moment, any spare time, well there is no spare time. While this mentality is great for production and business it fails to allow us to truly show ourselves and we miss out on valuable moments to authentically connect. Our emotions get stuffed into the food we create and the drinks we pour. We give, and you the guest, consume. It’s a pretty one si...ded transaction most of the time. And when it’s not, for us it hard to make the time to receive. Last night was different. Last night we came together for the last time at 220 Lexington. In every moment of the night, the connection between guest and employee, patron and owner, melted into a singular wholeness, that cant be expressed into words. Every emotion was on display, and every heart, full. It’s was one of the rawest pieces of Life I’ve ever experienced. After 7 years here, what I realize and am most grateful for is that I’m not special. I created a room, and stocked some shelves. But together will created what Vera actual is. We came together and breathed the life, and created a sacred space. And I can’t be more honored, grateful, thankful, and humbled to do that with each and everyone of you. There is a Vera in each and everyone of you. Find it, build it, and I for damn sure will be there to help breathe the life into it. Know that our hearts are full because of what we now share. Know that you have the power to create anything you wish. And always know that if there is time to lean, there is time to clean. Cameron and Shawna
