Syosset VFW Post 6394

The members have made the decision to change the name of our VFW Post to the Gus Scutari Post 6394 to commemorate the life and contributions of our beloved comrade.

Calverton National Cemetery I don’t see any color here, The headstones look the same; ... No black no brown no white skin tone There’s no one here to blame. These soldiers fought and died for you; Their color you can’t see; Your rights are still protected; Here’s the place to take a knee.

This morning several representatives, veterans, and residents met at the Syosset Memorial Park to attend the naming of the Gus Scutari Way. It was a wonderful tribute to the memory of Mr. Memorial Day.

May he always be remembered.

It is with great disappointment that we have to announce that this year's Memorial Day Parade has been cancelled. We, of course, struggled with this decision but it was made 1st with the understanding that we can not afford to lose even one person as a result of our ceremony for Memorial Day.
