Attention Village of Angola Water Customers: The water department is working on a water leak on Allen Street. Water is shut down until the repair is complete. Lake Street and surrounding customers will also be shut down as well. Thank you for your patience as the water department is working as quickly as possible to repair the line.

To help stop the spread of the Coronavirus the Village of Angola Water Department will not be entering homes to read water meters. If you have an inside water meter a blue card will be left for you to call the Village Hall with your meter reading. If you have an outside water meter the Water Department may still need an annual reading of the inside water meter. Please respond if you receive a notice to read your meter. Up to four (4) car or small pickup truck tires can be dropped off at the large roll-off dumpster in the Village of Angola, Commercial Street Parking Lot between the Village Hall / Fire Department and the DPW Building. The Village of Angola has been awarded $1000 from New York State Urban Forestry Council to plant new trees this year. An event to celebrate Arbor Day and plant the trees with the community was in the works until, as we know, Covid-19 hit! On Wednesday, June 24th the Village DPW will be at Herman Park planting the trees. Please feel free to stop in and see the progress and check our page for photos. Remember- the Earth is what we all have in common, so lets take care of it.

In place of a Memorial Day Parade ...and Celebration, the Lake Shore High School Bands, under the direction of Eric Blodgett and John Kresse, are honoring our Veterans, Health Care Workers, First Responders, and Loved Ones Lost (past and present) with a virtual performance of the "United States Armed Forces Salute". We need all hands on deck to make this a great event for our community! Pictures are needed to include in our tribute. These could be a picture of a current or past armed service member, a first responder, a health care worker on the front lines, a loved one lost (past or present), and anyone holding a sign with a message of hope or a message to any hero in your life. Kindness and Generosity from Local Business!! During these trying times, it can be easy to overlook those who are alone-those who have no support from family or... friends. With this in mind Dawn Youngers Lamberti, owner of DaWN's Restaurant in the village of Angola, partnered with the Evans Senior Center to lend a helping hand. Dawn's concern has translated into the donation of prepared meals for those isolated seniors who have no means of transportation. These seniors were contacted by Veronica SullivanYeager, Director of the Evans Senior Center. The meals were prepared using all COVID-19 standards, and were delivered using the same standards and precautions. Veronica personally made all-deliveries-leaving the meals on the doorstep then notifying the recipients of the delivery! Thank -you to DaWN's Restaurant for your thoughtfulness, your generosity, and your civic-mindedness. It was much appreciated and will be paid forward. See more

Governor Cuomo has announced that all dining room seating in all restaurants and pubs in New York State is now banned until further notice. However establishmen...ts are allowed to have customers take out food orders or have meals delivered. Veronica's will follow the directive from the governor by offering curbside pickup in our rear parking lot. Just call in your order and we'll meet you at the car. UPDATE: The line is repaired and water is on. The Water is shut down on parts of Lake Street and Lake Shore Road and surrounding streets while the Angola Water Department repairs a water line.

For anyone who has not paid their Village taxes, tomorrow is the last day to pay before all balances are turned over to the County. No payments will be accepted after Thursday, October 31st.

Brush chipping will end Friday, November 8th and leaf pickup has begun! Please pile your leaves at the edge of the street in order for our leaf machine to reach them. Anything further in will be left behind. There is no need to call as our DPW makes loops looking for leaf piles whenever possible.

A friendly reminder that winter parking restrictions start next Friday, November 1st. Village Code reads as follows: "The parking of vehicles is hereby prohibited on all highways and streets within the Village of Angola between the hours of 12:00 midnight and 7:00 a.m., beginning November 1 and ending April 1 of each year."

The Village Hall is collecting Entenmann's Little Bite Pouches. When we put these pouches in our regular trash- they end up in a landfill, this program allows for the reuse of the pouches. visit www.terracycle.com for more information
