Have a fun but safe Halloween!

From the Wesleyan Church: Just a reminder... Odessa Wesleyan Church is still planning to host the costume parade this year. The parade will begin at 5:30 in front of the school in Odessa. Odessa Wesleyan is also hosting the Odessa Fall house decorating contest again this year. There are two categories. The first one is Houses with homemade decorations or natural, plant themed displays (Hay, cornstalks, flowers...) The second one is any display including store bought items.... Judging will be Halloween night. The winners will receive gift certificates to Cathleen Curry Messmer's shop Curlystitch Embroidery in Odessa. They have a wide variety of items including Sweatshirts, T shirts, Hats, masks, totes and many other things as well. See more

The Village WILL be having trick-or-treating this year October 31, 2020 between 6-8pm. Homes should ONLY have their porch light on if they want to receive trick-or-treaters between the hours stated above. With Montour canceling, residents, please be cautious with an influx of children this year. The Village Halloween parade put on by the Wesleyan church will start at 5:30pm (more details about parade will be posted at a later date). Trunk or treat will be located in the Wesleyan church parking lot with the Odessa Fire Department located on Mitchell Place. (Mitchell Place between Church Street and Collage Ave will be closed for any vehicle traffic). Please practice social distancing when possible and wear a mask.

Odessa welcomes business newcomers Keith Rekczis and his fiancé Keziah Fraboni to the Village! They are the owners of Sanctuary 2A Guns and Ammo on the corner of Church and Speedway and setup to provide firearms and ammunition to our local area and region. Initially they will be by appointment only or via email at [email protected] or via their Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/Sanctuary-2A-Guns-and-Ammo-117873110019370/. ... They will have a drop box and request forms set up on the Church St. side porch in the very near future, just in case you'd rather contact them that way. They have limited ammunition in stock but will work with you to order anything you need! Summer is just about over. Now it’s time to enjoy the wonderful and unique autumn that the Finger Lakes has to offer. This is where you come in. The Village wants to feature your camera work in our next newsletter. As the fall foliage around us starts to change we should celebrate its colors while capturing the aesthetic that they bring. The newsletter is looking for photos that capture some kind of fall beauty. The photos can be creative set-up pieces or sceneries. You can submit your photos either through PM or in the comment section below.

Hello Odessa friends and neighbors. Last night overnight, we had a very nice bicycle stolen that was put away out behind the house. The Sheriff has been contacted and has spoken with several of our neighbors. Please be sure to keep your things locked up. Tag: Village of Odessa
