Hello everybody! We wanted to update you all on the safety precautions we are taking to prevent the spread of COVID-19. We have state of the art sanitization equipment that we use to clean the rooms in between each patient. We also require masks, and we take everybody’s temperatures at the door. All of our staff consistently wash our hands, as well as monitor our own temperatures. We have attached a link to our wellness questionnaire that must be completed before your appointment. We are also asking that you call when you arrive in order to promote social distancing. We strive for a clean and safe environment in which everybody feels comfortable. We hope everybody is staying safe and healthy, and we will see you all at your next appointments! https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx

So, yesterday I shared how to feed the sourdough starter that I started. Does that make sense? I have had a hard time finding yeast and decided now was the best time to try starting a starter. Anyway, we had some technical difficulty from the cameraman...(Dr. Jon)...so it's in two parts. I am beginning this adventure myself so it is a lot of trial and error. My first loaves of sourdough bread were amazing, however it was a two day process. I am going to continue making ...braces friendly recipes. Crusty sourdough bread is NOT a braces friendly recipe, but it is a good science experiment. What are you doing during this time of social distancing? We hope to be back in the office soon, providing a safe environment for treatment to continue. Please remember, if you have any emergencies, questions or concerns, please call us. Just because we are not in the office, does not mean we are not here. Stay healthy! See more

Today I had a question about how to floss with braces. Flossing is important to remove plaque and food debris from between teeth. This helps to prevent white spots, gum disease and cavities. Flossing, in general, can be tough to do. Flossing with braces is even more challenging! Flossing every day is the best way to master this technique. My advice is start with a few teeth (or more accurately the contacts between your teeth) and increase the number of teeth you floss ...every time you floss. You may not floss all of your teeth at once, but floss different areas every time and before you know it, you WILL be able to floss all of your teeth at once! If you have any questions, comment below. Don't forget to wash your hands before you floss ;)
