I have heard so many times that the way that we start each day defines the next. So, why not apply that same concept to the beginning of the month? Every Monday (at the start of each month) will be a day to spread motivation from the Vision NYC team, to all of you! The goal is to start a chain reaction of positivity to hopefully help more and more people stay motivated to go to work, school etc. Here's a picture of all of us at work today. We challenge all of you to post a photo (if you can) or post - and use the hashtag #motivationalmondays Hope you all have a great month!

Living with Keratoconus: Yesterday was Keratoconus awareness Day. We are seeing more and more cases of patients with severe corneal changes due to the Keratoconus disease. It's hard to say exactly when someone starts to manifest symptoms from this disease - or if one will acquire it at all. The good thing is that there are machines and testing that can help determine if there are precursors that show the onset of the disease. The thing to remember is, the sooner the better!... Prompt testing and annual exams help monitor corneal changes as well as over changes in eye health. Although Keratoconus can dramatically effect one’s sight - there is a procedure that stops it in its tracks! Collagen Crosslinking is a procedure that allows the affected cornea - to be reshaped and locked into a set position. That way the cornea is unable to change rapidly and therefore defeats the disease altogether. If you feel that your prescription has changed drastically or is changing more often than once a year, please come in for a consultation to see what we can do to help you live the best life you can - with the best vision you can have. COVID 19 has made even the simplest of errands complicated and stressful. Here at Vision NYC we have put into motion a hands free approach to each patient visit. Along with enhanced safety protocols - we aim to keep our patients and staff safe from COVID-19. Our physical location is officially back open to help provide care to our patients. Its time to say "goodbye" to Telehealth visits and "hello" to safe, quality in-person care. We hope to see you all soon! COVID-19 has been a difficult time for all of us. As a society, it has been a challenge to socially distance and stay home. This has left many of us feeling isolated and alone. Here are some ideas of things that you can do at home to help distract yourselves from COVID-19. 1. Have a virtual hangout with friends/family over video chat. 2. Take a virtual tour of a national park. 3. Cook some fun things at home Ex: Delgona Coffee Recipe:... https://www.delish.com//r/a32072159/dalgona-coffee-recipe/ 4. Binge watch tv shows and movies on a streaming service like Netflix, Hulu etc. We hope that these suggestions spark some creative ideas for you guys to use as a distraction from the social distancing dilemma. Stay safe and clean you guys!

We are all currently going through a very difficult time period in human history. The COVID-19 virus is sweeping across the globe and infecting thousands of people in a very small span of time. There is much to be done in terms of overall healing of our planet and the people that inhabit it. The first step is to ensure that we limit the amount of time we spend outside of the house. Social distancing is the key to buying time for pharmaceutical companies to create a vaccine to... help us all have a chance at fighting and beating this menacing virus. The best thing to do is to take this quarantine day by day and to look at the bigger picture at hand. By social distancing we can stop the spread of this virus by almost 50%. As hard as it may be to social distance - it is absolutely necessary to ensure safety for millions as we battle through this virus together. Please stay home as much as physically possible - and stay clean and safe! See more

Look likes Spring is coming early this year! Yay! Did you guys ever wonder if maybe the reason why the groundhog didn't see it's shadow yesterday - is because of cataracts? We will never really know if that was the case - but, what we do know, is that cataracts has been one of the leading causes of blindness in older patients. Make sure to let your eye doctor know if you have anyone in your family that may have issues with glare and decreased vision; your loved one may have developed a cataract. The important point is making sure we can get our older loved ones to see better than ever!
