Peter Drucker in his book "The Effective Executive" stated several rules on decision-making. Choice A decision is a judgment. It is a choice between alternatives. It is rarely a choice between right and wrong. ... Start with opinions The effective executive knows that people do not start out with the search for facts. They start out with an opinion. Not a fact! A good statistician knows and does not trust any numbers, no matter how well they know the person who provided them.
