St. Andrew Dinner for the Western/Eastern Region! - Divine Mercy in Central Square will be hosting the next St. Andrew Dinner on Monday, November 9th at 6:30 PM. Bishop Lucia will be attending. We will begin with Evening Prayer in the church, and then move to the parish hall for dinner. The evening will conclude with a conversation between the bishop, priests and young men attending about vocations, the priestly life, and related topics. Here are a few other questions ...that may come to your minds: COVID precautions? We’ll be observing all of them, including wearing masks while in church or in line for dinner, social distancing at prayer and at table, and temperature checks and questionnaire upon arrival. We will also not exceed 25 persons for the event. Who are we looking for? Young men ages 15-18, or others of a similar age who you think may have a vocation or may benefit from actively discerning God’s call in their life. When do we need to register by? Please sign up on the form provided no later than Sunday, November 8th. https://forms.gle/CRD3R5njrJTJHZvh6 Any Questions? Contact our coordinator, Fr. Ken Kirkman at [email protected]

Just in from Vocation Ministry National Vocation Awareness Week is upon us! In honor of this, you will hear one of the best episodes yet! First, find out about the brand new seminary in the Diocese of Charlotte, NC! Churches are not closing there; they are booming so much that they need a new seminary!! Then, I had the privilege of interviewing one of the most articulate and spiritually mature seminarians I have ever met: James Buttner from Syracuse, NY! You will not want to miss this! Lastly, God made each of us for a very special purpose! Be inspired by the Catholic mom who now has a son who is a priest! Listen!

Spectrum News Central New York/S. Tier spoke with Vocations team member, Father Ken Kirkman! "In the meantime, while year two in the priesthood isn't anything like Kirkman could have expected, he's hoping to provide a bit of certainty in a very uncertain time."

Saturday, November 14th will be a great day for our diocese! The Hundredfold Workshop is a large-scale diocesan event to help create a culture of vocations in ...the Diocese of Syracuse. The half-day gathering will reignite our focus on vocations to marriage, family, priesthood, and consecrated life. The workshop is being led by Rhonda Gruenewald, author of Hundredfold: A Guide for Parish Vocation Ministry. Based in Houston, Rhonda has been invited by many bishops to help start vocation ministries in their dioceses. Audiences love her charm, wit, and wisdomnot to mention her practical know-how about reaching young people with a pro-vocations message. Bishop Lucia is asking each parish to send two representatives for this training. Visit vocations-syracuse.org to register!
