I think it’s really important for everyone to know that VGS came to be as a tribute to my grandparents and Greek heritage. Yesterday we lost my sweet Papou Antoni, at 94 years old. He passed of natural causes surrounded by loved ones in the comfort of his own home. My Papou’s humble bravery brought our family to this country. The true immigrant story. Only a few clothes in a suitcase as they arrived in America and landed in Rochester to be taken in by other family who had mo...ved here a few years prior. My Papou Antoni and Yiayia Maria made a beautiful life for us all, their three boys, and 7 grandchildren. Papou was so proud of all of us, and so proud of VGS. He will be greatly missed. Thank you to my Papou from the bottom of my heart for teaching me, loving me, and nurturing me to become a strong person. Without Papou I wouldn’t have this opportunity to be doing what I love and what I am so passionate about. My grandparents inspired me to share our culture with you all, as authentically as I possibly can. We are open for take out only from 9:30-3:30 today. As we close in on 2020, we appreciate everything that we have all persevered.
