I have no favorites, but our two mares sure are cute and sort of Disney-Princess-Horse-Faced. Fiona is healing up and just getting back to work from an incident in early December, and Rumi has 80 days left before we head to Southern Pines for #wgfdoesnc2021 #haveyouhuggedaschoolhorsetoday #princessfiona #rubyone #pmubaby #ottb

Presenting our Walnut Grover of the Year, Aurora Tryka! We used to do awards every year. They were a wonderful way to acknowledge the victories that riders had in or out of the ring, recognized by ribbons or not. The awards fell a bit by the wayside the past few years, but I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt, that I needed to recognize the kid who did morning chores five five days a week this summer. ... @equestrian._aurora isn't in it for the showing or the ribbons, in fact she chose to only do our in-house show the past couple years even though she would see success away from home. For her, the hard work really is entirely for the love of the horses. They are so lucky to have her, and so are we. I'd like to start 2021 acknowledging horsemanship at its finest. Thanks to all my students who do pm chores; I see you, too. Want to be a shoe in for WG of the Year 2021? See you in the Hay Loft this June. #WalnutGroveroftheYear #haveyouhuggedaschoolhorsetoday #HaySeasonIsForEveryone

ISO a few different horses (and one elderly pony), for my Pony Clubbers. All three need the horse to be able to go to rallies and shows and tie to a trailer, trail ride alone or in company, be polite on the ground, and not have any glaring training issues (stopping, rearing, spooking, bolting). No horses under the age of six will be considered. Gold star for horses within a day trip of Buffalo, NY. A- D-3 level Pony Clubber is looking for draft cross to do low level everythin...g, with novice eventing within its range of possibility. She is 5'11" and growing, balanced with great hands (my schoolies love her). Horse must be over 15.3 hh. I'm potentially looking for a similar creature for my on-farm leasers as well. B- Another D-3 level Pony Clubber is also looking for a horse on which she can do BN-Novice level eventing. Must have eventing record (non-USEA ok). Does some hunters so changes would be a big plus. Must be fairly quiet. (Kid coming off angelic draft cross.) C- I suddenly have a half dozen children under 6 in our Pony Club. We need an old, tired, bombproof pony. Maintenance ok. Bonus points if it canters (or tranters) in a tired sort of way. If you do not want your beloved horse in a lesson program, a few of the families are shopping for such a pony.

Merry Christmas from all the patient ponies of Walnut Grove, some of whom even seem to enjoy being dressed 'festively.' The horses are all tucked snug in their stalls with warm water, hay, orange-tagged blankets, and visions of St. Nickolas dancing in their heads...
