*** PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT*** The snowmobile trail that crosses on our fireman’s field is CLOSED as are all other trails in the area until hunting season is over. If we catch anyone on our field again we will contact law enforcement and if this activity continues we may be forced to deny use of our field as a trail for seasons going forward.

***PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT*** This morning we were alerted to standby at Canastota Fire Department while they were operating at a very serious tractor trailer rollover accident on the NYS thruway. After about 30 minutes we were requested to block traffic on the N Main St bridge above the accident scene and wait for a rotator to arrive. While on the bridge we found the westbound lanes were completely closed and eastbound lanes were down to one lane with very poor road cond...itions. Imagine our horror of watching trucks and cars driving thru the 1 open eastbound lane at high rates of speed while our brothers and sisters operate on the roadway below and hoping no one would be struck by a passing vehicle. We’ve said it before and we know this may be falling on deaf ears. We are not asking you we are telling you SLOW DOWN! There is no way you are in that much of a hurry that you need to risk the lives of first responders at the scene of an accident. If you see flashing lights of any kind while driving SLOW DOWN! We need everyone to be safe and use their heads so everyone can go home to their families! Thank you See more

We will be broadcasting on Facebook Live starting Sunday at 5pm so people know where we are and have a chance to see the fire truck decked out in lights!!
