Hi everyone, Sifu Kwok's latest interview is available now! Please check out the links below.
Sifu Kwok’s review of Ip Man 4 is available to read at Combative Corner. What did you think of the movie?
It was a privilege to train with Grandmaster Wan Kam Leung, the founder of Practical Wing Chun before the holiday season.
In the latest Wing Chun Illustrated Article featuring Master William Kwok, he discusses the Five Sensory Systems (audio, visual, olfactory, tactile, proprioceptive). A video of him at Princeton University discussing this topic may be found here. Follow this link to order the latest Wing Chun Illustrated issue: http://www.magcloud.com/browse/magazine/199115
Remember that Kung Fu means hard work and time. Like the process of Yin and Yang, good Wing Chun means the mental aspects of training are as important as the physical. Learning any martial art can be a slow process. We must understand the process, set small goals, and learn how to build upon these little ideas. Observing culture helps your instructor acknowledge that your mind is accountable for techniques that are intrinsically dangerous to others. These philosophical aspects have been a part of training for years, and we shouldn’t lose them. For me, incorporating these ideas into physical practice is the definition of Traditional Martial Arts." - William Kwok
