Diane Monroe's program on Saturday night has slightly shifted focus to better suit a solo pandemic performance. Updated program information below. Hope to see you there! Diane Monroe, violin, presents "What Is This Thing Called 'Freedom'?"... This presentation of "What is This Thing Called 'Freedom'?" is an experimental solo performance that pays tribute to the heritage of the freedom calls of spirituals and Diane's reflections of them in new, original compositions. It also includes a selection from her recent project "Violin Woman, African Dreams," a personal musical memoir of her journey as an African American woman violinist. This event will be broadcast from Monroe's home studio and will include a Q and A session for attendees. Free but advance registration is required. www.hamilton.edu/performingarts
Our ensemble students did a superb job today on our first department Porch Concert Babbitt Pavilion being our porch! And great to have a very respectable, socially distanced but enthusiastic audience thanks to all for coming out even tho we didn’t advertise this.
It’s a beautiful (very windy) day for an outdoor concert. Socially distant, audience under 50, everyone masked.
