Members of the West Point Fire Department received multiple accolades today during a Garrison ceremony. Lieutenant Kim Calderone was recognized for her retirement after 29 years of service to the department. FF Ryan Smith was acknowledged for making multiple water entries during a water rescue that resulted in saving two people who were drowning. Representatives from Engine 1 and Truck 1 accepted awards on their crews behalf for the application of multiple tourniquets on an arterial bleed that resulted in a life saved.

The West Point Fire Department announces the retirement of Lieutenant Kimberly Calderone. Lt. Calderone joined the West Point Fire Department on May 7th 1991. We would like to extend our thanks for the 29 years of dedicated service she provided to the West Point community. Congratulations and happy retirement!

This evening the crew of truck 1 consisting of Lt. Conor Miller, FF. Daniel Hayes, FF. Tommy O’brien, FF. Mike Cronin and FF. Greg Nyce were recognized by Col. Marson for their CPR save on May 2, 2020.

On behalf of the West Point Professional Firefighters we would like to congratulate FF. William Billy Lee and his wife Rachel on the birth of their baby boy Jacob Anthony Lee. Born at 2155 hrs tonight weighing in at 7lbs 15 oz and 21 long. Mom and baby are doing great.

This morning West Points bravest with the assistance of the 2nd Aviation detachment out of Stewart conducted training on helicopter hoist operations.
