**Save the date** We are excited to announce the 1st date of Sarchioto's Concessions returning to Westmere Fire on Friday May 14th-Sunday May 16th, 2021. We hope you all enjoyed the fair food offered and look forward to seeing our community again this year. We will keep you updated closer to the date with what is on the menu. Our favorites were the Steak Sandwiches and the varieties of Fired Dough Bites. What was your favorite?

Throwback Thursday. Today is our 85th Anniversary. On this day in 1935, we were Incorporated by the State of New York. We would like to thank our members and our community for their continuous support. We also would like to take a moment of silence to all that we have lost throughout the years, gone but never forgotten.

Let's do a Sunday Funday throwback. We will give you a hint on this one with the year, 1979.

We wanted to share some interesting facts. The last time we got this large amount of snow in a single storm was back in 1993. Thank you News Channel 13 for the memories.

*ELECTION DAY INFORMATION* Voters assigned to the Westmere Fire Department (residents in Town of Guilderland Election Districts 7, 8, 9, 11, and 12) may vote from 6:00am - 9:00pm on Tuesday the 3rd. We have a total of 49 parking spaces (plus 3 handicapped spaces) across our rear and east parking lots. Do not park in any spaces marked off with cones, as these are reserved for emergency crews.... Voters may wish to use additional marked spaces across Center Drive in the parking lot for Guilderland EMS Station 1. Election workers are kindly asked to park further away from the building to allow voters to easily access the polling place. Westmere Fire Department, Westmere Fire District, and Guilderland EMS are not responsible for controlling traffic during the event, however, uniformed members from either department will ask you to move your vehicle if you park illegally on our properties. Any issues that arise on Election Day should be brought to the attention of an election worker, or the Albany County Board of Elections by calling (518) 407-5060. Please do not call the Fire Department as we are unable to provide election information or assistance.

It's that time to turn your clocks back an hour, even though we don't want an extra hour of 2020. Remember to also change your Smoke Detector batteries. If you have a sealed Detector that is good for 10 years, test it to make sure it is functioning properly. Also talk with your family about a meeting spot during an emergency.

This past Saturday, we visited our community spreading the Halloween spirit and handing out bags of goodies. We wanted to share some of the memories and if you have any pictures post them up, we love seeing them. Thank you to our community for your continued support.

We're in the home stretch! One engine will be zig-zagging between Venezio Ave and Palma Boulevard; the other will be riding through the Pine Knob Drive and Seeley Drive neighborhood. Did you miss us? Stop by the firehouse tonight for some goodies. We will be here until about 9pm!
