Wethersfield is pleased to introduce the work of the artist fellows of Grand Central Atelier’s Hudson River Fellowship at Wethersfield. Fellow, Lara Saunders (Art Lara Saunders), tells us, I took my first art class at 12 and started at GCA when I was 17. During my time at GCA I focused heavily on figure and portrait painting. My art stems from very traditional roots, mostly classical academic art. One of my inspirations is Michael Klein because of his sensitivity and romanti...cization of nature in his work. Coming out to Wethersfield has given me an opportunity to explore landscape painting and expand my repertoire. The other artists here are another big part of why I came to the Hudson River Fellowship. Everyone is so talented I feel like I’m learning from the land and the people.
