Attach a garden hose to the drain at the bottom of the tank. Run the hose over to the sump pump crock or closest drain. Make sure the end of the hose is secure and weighed down. With the water still on to the tank slowly open the drain till it is open all the way. Run it fully open for approximately 5 seconds. Close drain . Remove hose and voila you have now added time to the life of your tank. At the same time, made it healthier for you and your family. The tank acts as a catch for minerals and other deposits.
