No more DH MTB in the Whiteface/Lake Placid region is 100% the fault of the Olympic Regional Development Authority and we are not happy about that. We sincerely apologize to the loyal riders and friends.
A big thanks to Lyndsey Goodale for overseeing the sale for the remains of the Whiteface Mountain Bike Park. She is kicking butt and will provide me with an upd...ated list of what remains as of June 3, 2020. We also wish to thank the loyal riders that stocked up on jerseys and tee shirts. We do apologize to our Canadian friends that paid for the freight and customs charges. As for the lowballers..... um. we can't afford to sell at Fire Sale prices and we can afford to wait and sell at a very fair price. A very sincere thanks! See more
We have our entrance sign for sale. This is on plywood, is 4' x 8', and is double-sided. We just paid almost $700 for this 2 years ago. The sign was outside of Whiteface in the summers only and stored during the other 8-months of the year. Excellent condition and being sold via online Auction-Style. We will accept bids starting at $250 and the auction will end on June 10, 2020.
The Memorial Weekend Sale is over but we still have many items left for sale. Later this week we will list all items remaining and will let you know how to purchase. Thanks again to all that came to the sale.
Day 3 of the sale is from 10-3 today. If you ride DH, we have 7 Glory's left and a boatload of pads and helmets. Some of the pads are new and some used. We also have brand new X-C helmets in all sizes and colors. XC helmets may be as low as $40? Brand new gloves, grips, derailleurs and more. No reasonable offers will be refused.
Day 1 of the sale is in the books. We still have 8 DH bikes and an awesome trail bike for someone 4' 6'' to 5'.
Final video from a close Whiteface friend.
No More Lift Service MTB in the Whiteface/Lake Placid Region.
We just received the official bad news. They told us "no" twice this spring and we still tried and got the final 3rd "no bikes at the mountain". https://www.pinkbike.com///another-one-bites-the-dust.html
Keep lift service mountain biking alive in the Whiteface/Lake Placid region.
We are still hoping that we can keep lift service mountain biking alive in the Whiteface/Lake Placid region. Fingers crossed as we are still waiting for ORDA's final answer. I can't imagine no lift service mountain biking in our region. Just un-imaginable for an area trying to become the next MTB mecca. OMG, please let there be a bike park there.
Please keep your fingers crossed as we are/have been trying to get a contract signed to operate for the summer of 2020. We are 100% set with a huge fleet of new 2020 model rental bikes for adults, upped our inventory on high-end kids bikes and even invested in new shuttles vehicles late last year. Our region has seen a huge increase in mountain biking and needs lift service mountain biking.
