Congratulations to all! Great firefighters dedicated to the high level of training here in Sullivan County!

A while back we posted to gauge interest in starting an auxiliary for the fire company. Now that the holiday rush is over its time to get the ball rolling. We will be holding a meeting Monday Jan 18 2021 at 6pm at our firehouse. We have several members of our former Ladies auxiliary that plan to be members of this auxiliary so we should be able to answer your questions and get things rolling! This auxiliary will not be a ladies auxiliary, so everyone is welcome to join. Please share this post with any interested people that may not be on Facebook. If you want to join please pm us so we can get a rough headcount and know how many plan to attend in person and how many virtually. We look forward to having you join our family!

The White Lake Fire Company will be out today starting around noon to deliver gifts to registered children in the White Lake Fire District! You may see lights and hear sirens, don't be alarmed! Stay warm and be safe!

Western Bethel 02:30 am almost 5 1/2"

At approximately 01:00 hrs this morning crews from White Lake and Kauneonga Lake Fire Departments made quick work of fire in a home on W Oak St in the White Lake Fire District! 13-1 arrived first with smoke showing and what appeared to be a chimney fire with extension. 35-1 requested a 2nd alarm for both Departments! After a short investigation it was found that hot ashes were put into a plastic can which burned through the floor and into the basement and spreading up the walls! (All while the two residents were sleeping) The occupants were awakened by the dog barking and found the house on fire! Great Job by all involved and coming out braving the weather! White Lake units on scene were 35-1, 2, 3512 and 3521!

Be Careful if you are out on the roads tonight!

Just before 1700hrs today(12/5/20) we were dispatched with Kauneonga Lake Fire Department to assist the Monticello Fire Department at a reported capsized boat on swinging bridge with our boats and divers! Units responded quickly with reports of subjects screaming. We launched our boat at the public launch with Kauneonga Lake heading south to last known location of boat and we went against the white caps, wind and cold waters to the north of the boat launch! We were able to lo...cate the subject just moments into the dark search and were able to get him to the command post where ems was waiting... our boat along with Kauneonga Lake continued to search the frigid waters and shores until we confirmed there was only one subject. We then secured the capsized boat and assisted Station 13 at getting the vessel to shore! Some may say we were crazy getting in that rough water with our little V bottom 15 HP motor boat but again it does the job. This boat was donated to us several years ago by the Rock Hill Fire Department and it has served us well! Today is a big day for us in the White Lake Fire Company. We start today providing a better service for our community by running Cardiac Arrest calls automatically with our Bethel EMS volunteers within the White Lake Fire District. Cardiac arrest occurs when the heart stops pumping blood around the body. When someone has a cardiac arrest early CPR and early defibrillation is extremely important. The earlier effective CPR and defibrillation is received the higher the chance of... survival. A defibrillator will only deliver an electrical shock if the patient is in a ‘shockable rhythm’ during the cardiac arrest. Our fire commissioners have provided us AED's on 4 of our fire trucks and an additional one in our fire house. These are critical to get to a patient as quickly as possible in the event of a sudden cardiac arrest. We hope we never have to use these but we stand ready when our community needs us. We have seen first hand what quick action and training can do to boost survival rates! See the attached graph which puts it all into prospective on how fast life can change! As always be safe! We are saddened to hear of the sudden passing of our fellow brother and friend Wes Walgren! Our thoughts and prayers are with his family! We have it from here brother!!

A little throwback!

At 13:15 Lumberland responded to a structure fire. It was fully involved upon arrival. Our mutual aide companies arrived quickly and we want to thank all of you... who stood with us fighting fire and doing overhaul, drafting water or minding the shop. The family dog perished and was removed by firefighters and given to the family, at their request. At 17:30 the operation completed and we began the arduous task of clean up. We were racking five inch hose when the PJ team came up the driveway to help rack it. Relief at its best! Clean up continued at the firehouse, laying out the hundreds of feet of wet hose and replacing it on the trucks with dry hose. We left tired, but grateful for our own teams and our mutual aide teams. Our thoughts are with the homeowners as they sort through the loss of belongings and their pet. And fellow citizens, we know it was an inconvenience to have Rt 31 closed, but you all handled it with grace. Thank you for your support. See more

White Lake is currently standing by in Highland lake Fire House covering Highland Lake, Lumberland and Yulan Fire Districts with Shohola tanker while they operate at a working structure fire in the area of the Lumberland Fire House!
