***May 12, 2020 Update*** Dear Parents & Players, We regret to inform you that we have decided to cancel the 2020 Whitesboro Youth Baseball/Softball Season. We held out as long as we could to get out on the field but after the Governors update and other factors, we made the hard decision to cancel. Our first priority is the safety of the players and we need to follow state and local government guidelines. ... We are putting together a plan in regards to registration fees so please stay tuned for more communication within the upcoming days. To all the players. Update from Little League International. Summary: Unfortunately there will not be a Little League World series and qualifiers. Locally we still in standstill mode. At the Federal level, May 11th is the day we can resume operations, but at a State Level, we are still in at a standstill while NYS PAUSE is active. ... We are monitoring the situation regularly and we still have hope for a 2020 season. We will provide future updates as they come. Stay Safe & Healthy! ***Update 4/17/2020*** Hello, Whitesboro Youth Baseball/Softball Players and Families. We hope everyone is safe and healthy during these difficult times. League Update: Up until yesterday we were shooting for May 11th to resume operations. All we had to accomplish was our Minor A Baseball Tryout/Draft. All other levels of baseball and softball are set to go. With the NYS PAUSE staying in effect till May 15th, we are at the states Mercy when it comes to resuming operations.... We are working on alternatives for the season and discussing having a later start date. I just want to make sure everyone knows this season is still on our minds and we will try out best to make a season happen. More information on that will come in the future. In the meantime some fun activities to do in the meantime: 1) The National Baseball Hall of Fame is hosting Virtual Events. ***03/16/2020 Update*** Our operations have been pushed out. We are now looking at a Middle May Season Start. Hopefully, this doesn't happen. We have all intentions of having a season and if we happen to start late we will finish late. Our first priority is to make sure every player and their families are healthy &safe. ... Keep Playing catch and keep smiling :) ***LEAGUE UPDATE*** As of today, we have decided to suspend all baseball/softball operations until at least April 6th. Little League International, our baseball governing body, has suggested we do so. We have agreed and will suspend all operations until April. With that our start date may be affected. Here is how it will affect our league. Softball: Coaches and Teams have already been assigned and coaches have or will be in touch with all parents. Little League: The tryouts were completed as of 3/12 and the coaches will draft their teams later this week and be in touch with parents shortly after that. Minor A: Our tryout was scheduled for 3/19 and has been postponed. We are working with Accelerate to schedule another tryout for after spring break. After the tryout players will be drafted to a team and parents notified after that. Minor B: Coaches and Teams have already been assigned and coaches have or will be in touch with all parents. T-Ball: Coaches and Teams have already been assigned and coaches have or will be in touch with all parents. Babe Ruth: No Impact as of now as their season starts later in the year.
