Mongkol is a 61-year-old former logging elephant. His captive-held life was spent hauling trees in the Thai forest. His body shape is deformed through hard lab...our, he lost his right eye and tusk in this brutal logging practice. Mongkol was rescued and brought to Elephants World to spend the rest of his days relaxing peacefully in freedom by the River Kwai. I discovered Mongkol is an extremely gentle, sensitive elephant who enjoys music, which I play to him occasionally in the day and night. Music: Beethoven "Emperor Concerto" slow movement. Sheet music is available (free) from IMSLP Music Library: https://tinyurl.com/ts5qelr scroll down to: Adagio un poco moto (No.2)For Piano (Moszkowski)

I hope and pray that during this incredibly difficult time that we don't forget to care for and love animals of all and any kind. I'm hoping also that this global tragedy will clarify why climate change mitigation is so imperative and why we all need to love each other and all living things inspite of our differences. Just hoping........

*WARNING GRAPHIC CONTENT* Blood Water: BC’s Dirty Salmon Farming Secret Investigative dives at farmed salmon processing plants near Campbell River and Tofino B....C. Canada have revealed that raw, infected effluent is being released into critical wild salmon migration corridors. This untreated blood water is infected with Piscine Reovirus, a highly infectious virus which causes HSMI (Heart and Skeletal Muscle Inflammation), a deadly disease for wild salmon. A third of BC’s salmon migrate past these two processing plants. If we want wild salmon to survive on our coast, this dirty industry must transition to land. Please SHARE! We've been seeing too many cases of abuse to these creatures recently on the news and social media. Wildlife like opossums are not too much different than us -- we all want food to eat, water to drink and safety for our families. #BeKindToOpossums
