Check this guy out. Got this call first thing this morning. Seagull not looking good in Amagansett. When I arrived on scene I noticed the seagull had a tremendo...us swelling or lump in its neck and head. I immediately secured the bird and noticed it was having mild difficulty breathing properly. I rushed to Dr. T fearing the worst. Dr. Turetsky examined the seagull and reported that the deformity was not actually a lump or mass at all, but rather AIR that was escaping from the trachea or some tear in the respiratory tract. The good news was, that Evelyn Alexander apparently has had experience with this injury and I was able to get a volunteer Tracy Sternkopf Broxmeyer to transport it to the center. Thanks Tracy. Thanks EA. Thanks Dr. T. YOU ALL ROCK. This bird was so gentle, you couldn't help but root for its recovery. Fingers crossed. See more

Ahhh Monday. Did 6 rescues today and felt great. Can't help but think that just last year I'd do 6 rescues in a week. I could spin this into a negative prognosi...s, but I'd much rather think that we're just getting to more wildlife in need than we were able to get to last year. Any-who,... this was the end of the day special. I've seen a lot, but I NEVER say I've seen it all. This is exactly why. The company that made this squirrel proof bird feeder, owes this homeowner an explanation (and a new and improved feeder). Thanks to Evelyn Alexander for putting this call out on the wildlife rescue app. I was two streets away. See more
