Wilson Historical Society 30.11.2020

On Friday, November 6th at 2:00 pm, Shelley Richards will be in attendance at the History Center, 215 Niagara Street, to sign her newest book, "Glenwood Cemeter...y, Lockport, NY" and her two previous books, "St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Lockport, NY - Volumes 1 & 2". Feel free to stop by for a little chat, and learn how she came up with the idea to research such a major historic site! See you Friday!

Check out this new book, from author Shelley Richards! There are many people from Wilson buried at Glenwood, including one of the society’s founding father’s Dr. John Argue!

It is with sincere gratitude that we recognize our town historian, Francis Gallagher who applied for and won the grant for the newest historical roadside marker for our Rex Tugwell log cabin. Thanks to his efforts it will be memorialized for many years to come!

It is with great regret that the Historical Society must with everyone's safety in mind, cancel the 2020 Memorial Day fair. Due to health concerns with Corona virus, and the ongoing restrictions regarding large gatherings, we feel we cannot in good conscience proceed with the fair. All vendors will receive a refund of their deposits along with a letter detailing plans for 2021. We look forward as everyone does to the day when we can all gather again and share the community celebration that has for almost 50 years marked the beginning of the summer season in Wilson. Thanks for your support and understanding. - Wilson Historical Society Board of Directors
