We've heard from so many dog owners that the conditions at the Murray Park Dog Run are not ideal. Our neighbors have started a petition asking that it be improved. We already have the city's ear - just need to organize and show that this is something we need. Sign today!

Jose Peralta is one of eight NY state senators who ran in their districts as Democrats -- but then voted for Republican leadership in Albany. That's unacceptable.
Just wanted to let you all know about our upcoming concert on December 13th. Also the chorus is in need of tenors and basses. If you know the parts to the Messiah and want to join us for two remaining rehearsals on Tuesday night and concert on Wednesday the 13th, let me know. All are invited to the reception immediately the concert. Hope to see you there. Patricia Glunt

This Saturday the Jackson Heights Beautification Group will be gardening at Leverich Cemetery with a special Day of the Dead alter, so bring a small food offering to a lost loved one. All are welcome. This is a great gardening activity for small children as it is an enclosed space. We provide the tools and gloves, so just show up in your old close so you can get dirty! To enter Leverich walk to 35th Avenue and 71nd Street. Enter between the Animal Hospital and the Chinese r...estaurant and look for the balloons. For details on the abandoned cemetery check out: Leverich Family Burial Ground | New York City Cemetery Project https://nycemetery.wordpress.com/.../ ... Oct 25, 2010 ... Leverich Family Burial Ground. ... The Leveriches became a prominent Newtown family and their old homestead, originally built by Caleb in 1670, stood nearby the burial ground until it burned down in 1909. When the cemetery was first used is unknown.
This Saturday there will be a great event--The Zombie Ride. It is a bike ride that starts at Gantry Park in Long Island City and is a police escorted 6 mile ride. They stop and "trick or treat" at local stores and end at Socrates Park were there is a fall festival.Kids can decorate their bikes and can wear costumes.
Soon will be not park left http://m.qchron.com//article_fca6b554-71a7-5fd0-8a45-c7e11
Here's the first ride in the series Shelly mentioned. It's out of the neighborhood, but we'll be riding to the start at Gantry, if anyone wants to do the feeder ride with us. Please RSVP to the event. I'll post link.
