We are proud to share that one of our own Junior year Cadets, Addison Copeland, has been offered a full scholarship to Rutgers University! Addison has made a verbal commitment to the Big 10 school and plans to pursue a career in Architecture. He has a long list of accomplishments in his high school sports career. He ranked 8th overall, in the 100 meter dash, in the State Track and Field Competition. He ranks as the #1 wide receiver and 5th overall, in WNY high school football. He finds time to work after school and still maintains his Honor Roll status here at Maritime. We are so excited to watch you journey through this very exciting time in your life and know you will continue to do great things! Congratulations Addison!

Congratulations LT.
Yesterday was the 20th anniversary of the attack on the USS COLE. This is a very interesting tribute to the 17 sailors they were killed in the attack.
Our Maritime Careers Class was able to maintain the partnership with the Buffalo Yacht Club and go sailing on 22' sailboats for the first few weeks of the school year. Unfortunately, it's gotten too cold to continue for now, but will be back in the spring. Thanks to Leah and Joe for their patience, teaching, and openness to keep things going with all the changes due to COVID-19.
Happy World Teachers' Day to all of our teachers and those that have chosen this career path wherever they teach.
We're very glad to be able to continue our relationship with the Buffalo Maritme Center and the Hand to Hand Program. Social distancing and other COVID-19 factors have changed the layout of their classroom, but we're still building boats!!
Yesterday afternoon we held the ribbon cutting ceremony for our new high school. Pictured are Ms. Cathy Oldenburg (Commandant), Mr. Tim O'brien (President of the school's board), and Kevin Burke (Retired Army CSM and founding member of the school's board). Looking forward to many years in our new neighborhood.
Just a quick reminder that cadets at the high school need to be in their Navy JROTC uniform either tomorrow (Thursday) or Friday for school pictures. No PT Uniform until next week.
