I’ve seen #bacon #donuts for years on @foodnetwork, but since I don’t eat pork, I’ve never had one. That is, until today. #Kosher bakeries have been going all out in recent years, making all sorts of amazing #sufganiyot or donuts for #Chanukah. I saw a post somewhere about a Kosher beef bacon donut and it looked amazingly intriguing. I decided it must be even better if you prepare the bacon at home. I picked up some non-dairy glazed donuts from @gourmetglatt , some beef b...acon from @jacksgourmet, and duck fry (duck bacon) from @pellehpoultry (all available at Gourmet Glatt). The kitchen smelled amazing while the meats were cooking, and the combination of sweet/salty/smokey/doughy was quite tasty. Decided to #bake #rainbow #challah for the first time in celebration of #ParshatNoach, this week’s #Torah portion that tells the story of Noah and the flood. Many people warned me that it is a lengthy process, as it takes a very long time to knead the food coloring into the dough. I decided to come up with a hack! I searched online for a VERY small batch challah recipe (photo attached), and made 6 separate mini batches, each with the food coloring mixed in to the liquid portion.
