We are excited to announce that we have added "intraoperative consultation" to our test menu as a service for our clients. Intraoperative consultation can be used as an aid in surgical practice to provide immediate information concerning the nature of the diagnosis and guide surgical management. To schedule a con...sultation, please provide the laboratory with at least 30 minutes notice and we will dispatch a courier to pick up the specimen and transport it to the laboratory for immediate evaluation. We are very excited to announce that we have received New York State approval to perform Multiple Myeloma Fluorescence in situ Hybridization (FISH) testing on bone marrow specimens. Multiple myeloma is a lymphoproliferative disorder characterized by the monoclonal proliferation of plasma cells. Diagnosis is based on a combination of clinical, morphological, immunological, and radiologic features. Our hematopathology department and cytogenetics laboratory maintain their commitment to the provision of the most technologically advanced testing services available in the industry for you and your patients.

We would like to introduce our newest pathologist to X-Cell Laboratories, Dr. Hasan Khatib! Dr. Khatib is trained in anatomic and clinical pathology and has completed fellowship training in breast and gyn cytopathology. Looking forward to working with you, welcome to the team!

Vaginitis panels are processed by our cytology department and reported to the clinician's office within 24 hours. Turnaround time is an important part of our workflow to ensure patients are treated in a timely manner.

We are very excited to announce that we have been approved to run Trichomonas vaginalis testing on female urine specimens at X-Cell. The Trichomonas vaginalis assay is an in vitro qualitative nucleic acid amplification test for the detection of ribosomal RNA in symptomatic and asymptomatic women. Trichomonas testing can be ordered as a panel with Chlamydia & Gonorrhea or by itself. Contact us today for more details!

X-Cell offers malignant leukocyte immunophenotyping using several leukemia and lymphoma panels by flow cytometry. Immunophenotypic analysis of white blood cells can aid in distinguishing between non-neoplastic and malignant disease states. Flow cytometry is performed as an ancillary test to help diagnose and characterize disease entities such as acute leukemias, lymphoproliferative disorders, myeloid neoplasms, and plasma cell dyscrasias.
