Vaccine update 1/12/2021: Today the Governor announced that Phase 1B will now include adults 65 years and up. With that announcement comes many more community members looking for vaccine. What didn't come with that announcement is more vaccine. Vaccine supply is very limited and it will now take months to get everyone vaccinated in 1B. We are getting many emails, FB messages and phone calls about where can you get the vaccine and we cannot keep up with them. We ask that ...you all be very patient and we will post any vaccination clinic information on both our website -www.yatescountypublichealth.org and FB page as it becomes available. We are hoping our pharmacies and local medical provider offices start receiving vaccine in the next few weeks as well to help vaccinate the 65 and up population. COVID-19 update as of January 11th Since our Friday report, we have received 53 new cases. Of the new cases, 31 are close contacts of previous positive cases, 6 are associated with long term care, 2 are Penn Yan Central School District students and 2 are Marcus Whitman Central School District students. We are sad to report two more COVID-19 related deaths that are associated with long term care. One individual was in their 80’s and the other 90’s. Our thoughts are with the families. We had 43 more cases recover as well.

Vaccine update 1/11/2021: We are getting many emails, FB messages and phone calls about the Governor announcing that Phase 1B is now open and how can they get vaccinated. At this time, we do not have vaccine for Phase 1B. We are only shipped a limited number of doses each week. Our clinic for this week on Weds, January 13th is already full for 1A recipients. Our next vaccine shipment will be next week. We ask that you all be very patient as it is going to take weeks, even months, to get enough vaccine to vaccinate Phase 1B. Our next free COVID-19 drive thru testing event for asymptomatic individuals is Tuesday, January 12th in Dundee from 10:00am to 11:00am. Pre-registration is required and you can register at https://apps.health.ny.gov/doh2/applinks/cdmspr/2/counties . See below for more information.

COVID-19 update as of January 8th We received 25 new cases today six cases are close contacts of previous positive cases, six cases are long term care related, and two cases are Penn Yan Central School District students. We had 17 more cases recover today.
