Collection item of the week: Simchat Torah flag, Israel, c. 1950 Check out this vintage Simchat Torah flag from the early years of the State of Israel! The palladian-style Torah Ark is decorated with images evoking the Tabernacle, such as the High Priest’s breast plate, incense censer, Menorah, and the Tablets of the Law. Children dance in the foreground, some wearing modern clothing and waving Zionist flags, others in traditional garb carrying Torah scrolls. ...
