Listening is a discipline. The root of the word listen means to honor, and you have to make time to honor something in your life. But here’s all it takes: Carve out five to ten minutes and find a quiet space. Write at the top of a piece of paper: God, what do you want to say to me today? And then listen. If interrupting thoughts break inlike your grocery list or a phone call you need to makeno problem. Dedicate a box at the top right of your paper for anything you need ...to jot down that’s unrelated to your listening. I call this two way journaling. Write down what you hear from God. Write down what you want to say back to himquestions, concerns, frustrations, gratitudeanything. Just sit and listen to him and to yourself and record your dialogue. It’s OK if it goes poorly at first. It’s OK if you feel distracted or annoyed or frantic or itchy. All of these things are likely. Just keep listening. Begin this practice with a little yoga and your body will be more relaxed and less distracting to your mind. Listening is about trading our trying for trust. Listening is a begin-again kind of ritual. It’s never finished and it’s always possible, and it’s waiting to give us living and breathing gifts that are new every morning.

I ate waaaaay too much delicious Thanksgiving dinner + +last night. Lunch today was left overs and more pie. I feel sluggish and tired, like I need to detox a little. So join me for a cleansing, slow flow at the Hope center. Lots of twist to detox the gut, heart openers for gratitude of course too.

In Christ-centered yoga we practice visualizing our bodies filling with the light of Jesus as we breath into the dark spaces of our physical bodies. Every breath in is an opportunity to radiate that light and cultivate joy! Every breath in is a reason to rejoice! As we practice this in yoga, breath by breath, Jesus transforms our minds and bodies. As we exhale, we have an opportunity, to surrender, to lay down our burdens, to rest. Are you grateful for the moments in your life that beg for a bend in the road, though you have to be the one to blaze the trail? Let's get grateful as we let go. Is it time to let go of something? If so, let me give you courage: this bend in the road is no surprise to the King who made you. He has good, good plans for you. And He is intimately acquainted with all of your ways. ... May we be brave and strong and let go of all the things: Expectations. Opinions. Fears. Bitterness. Status. Jealousy. Comparison. Disappointing Others. Judgement. Addiction to Approval. May we let go of what is negative, just not right, unhealthy, or toxic. May we let go of who we think we are supposed to be. May we let go, to let grow. Thank you God, that you let go of your Son, so we could be free.

I have been spending a lot of time on my mat with Jesus this week. We have been taking things reallllly slow. He has been showing me true intimacy takes time, patience and perseverance. As I breathe slow and deep I can feel He is present in every cell of my physical body. This is yoga. We are one. Calling all you wild olive shoots! Join me tomorrow at 930am for Christ-centered yoga at the Hope Center of LeRoy. We will be focusing on rooting into TRUTH. Bring your own mat and props please. Enter through the front door. Wear your mask to your mat if you like, but not required. Take them off for practice. We will keep our mats 6 feet apart. I will be sanitizing the space after each class. $10 recommended minimum donation. ... Beginners welcome! This is an all levels class. I look forward to seeing your smiling faces.

I have been waiting all year to make this announcement! IN PERSON, INDOOR Yoga Sanctified classes start at the Hope Center Saturdays at 10am starting September 26th. Please bring your own mats and props if you need them. This class as always is donation based with a minimum recommended donation of $10. Part of the donations go to the Hope Center of LeRoy. Feel free to wear your masks until you get to your space on your mat where you can breath and practice free faced. We will keep the mats at least 6 feet apart. I will be sanitizing the space after every class. Thank you all I can't wait to see your smiling faces on your mat!
