Yonkers Y CEO, Lucria Ortiz and many other community leaders joined Mayor Mike Spano today in the announcement of the city's first Health Equity Task Force. The mission of the group will be to improve the health of Yonkers’ most vulnerable citizens including Black, Hispanic/Latinx, immigrant populations; that experience significant health disparities by enhancing access to efficient, unbiased, culturally sensitive health care services, with a focus on prevention. The Y is a leader in Health Equity and looks forward to dialogue that leads to better care for our community. #YonkersY #healthequity #communityneeds
