Insane Handpainted Mane

Yvonne Jenney at De La Mer Salon 19.06.2021

for this @allybuzzetta gave me a completely blank canvas and I worked my magic She came in wanting a big change, but wanted minimal maintenance, so we brightened up her ends and around her face but kept a lot of her natural at the root. This is going to grow in effortlessly and look great for a long time! Cut & style by @bf.artistry

Let's talk color corrections Haircolor is science. NOT MAGIC. We are using chemicals, chemicals that have reactions and interactions with your hair. The starting point of your hair when we get to it plays a HUGE role in where we can get you in the end. Whether you tried to do your hair yourself or your colorists' technique wasn't quite up to par, having to correct mistakes made in the hair is not an easy task. Your colorist has to work with the canvas presented to them all... while attempting to not further damage your hair. THIS CAN BE A PROCESS and your original hair goal may not be achievable for a few sessions. In this situation, there was A LOT going on in my client's hair. The hair in the back was too light and over processed and the hair in the front was not lightened enough, stripey, with over processed ends. She was going for a much softer look. Luckily, what she had in mind aligned with what her hair allowed me to do, but....... sometimes over processed hair doesn't hold on to color. sometimes color treated hair doesn't get as light as you want it to. sometimes the health of your hair doesn't allow us to lighten you again. If you are going to a reputable colorist that you have seen and liked their work, especially after a mistake was made in your hair, KNOW that what they fix may not be perfect in one shot, but that they are working towards your goal while protecting the health of your hair. Trust the process.

We've come a long way, but to get this look took patience, proper at home care, multiple lightening sessions, treatments, and most importantly trusting the process and your colorist. @smoove1003 came to me back in July 2019 with compromised hair that had old, over processed highlights, layers of old color built up on her ends, and an overall orange glow to her hair. We have been working towards getting her as cool toned as possible while maintaining the integrity of her curls. We are almost to her dream hair and her hair is obviously healthier and getting long! It may not be on your timeline, but when you trust the process, magic can happen! what we started with

Low maintenance color at it’s finest! I created this look by deleting some of my client’s old color with lowlights and brightening up around her face. This will need to be maintained with a quick glaze every 6 weeks to keep the gradient and tone looking fresh and a lightening service every 5 months or so. Super low maintenance!

The glaze application is a necessary part of the process and is what gives the desired tone and look. Clients usually get nervous while the glaze is processing, thinking it looks like it is getting too dark..... But I promise we know what we are doing! Refresh the glaze every 4-6 weeks to keep the grow out looking intentional and the brassy tones in check. these results!
