I made my last gold-based removable partial denture with a 6-unit anterior bridge for this 50-something year old woman at the end of the last century! About 7 years later, the anterior bridge failed when the upper right canine fractured. We duplicated the original crowns with a long term, metal reinforced, provisional bridge. Placed implants and even retained tooth #9 with gold over-coping to maintain bone. The final restoration is a screw-mentable (screw and cement retai...ned) 12-unit implant retained fixed bridge. The final photos you see are actually a 10-year hygiene appointment when we finally removed the restoration to see the tissue reaction under the ovate pontics, and to evaluate tooth #9 (still there after all these years). Remarkable! She is 75 year old now and loves her teeth. Here's to longevity. 65 year smile rollback!!! 83 year old woman presented by a friend's referral since she realized that her teeth were hopeless and she was very uncomfortable in current restorations. Combination of traditional and digital denture impression, design and production produced transitional immediate insertion dentures which allowed her to heal from the extraction and implant surgery, as well as assess her ability to wear a palateless upper denture!
