Walter Eiland, co-founder of 100 Black Men of Syracuse, addressed the crowd at the Black Men United's "Suited Up for Solidarity" march and rally held Oct. 10, 2020 on the steps of the Onondaga County Courthouse. The 100 was one of more than 20 local organizations and public officials supporting the event organized to counter the negative stereotyping of Black men and demonstrate a unified front.
The 100 wishes to remind you that you must register in advance to participate in Thursday's special, live, interactive one-hour event (via Zoom) for our video interview series, "100 Conversations for Change," which begins at 6 p.m. Go to our partner's (Syracuse Stage) website at https://syracusestage.org/100conversations.php to register for Thursday's special, watch the first four influencers featured in full interviews and learn more about the series. Join 100 Black Men of Syracuse as we partner with Syracuse Stage and Black Cub Productions for an engaging and timely video series, 100 Conversations for Change. 100 Black Men of Syracuse President Drake Harrison hosts conversations with Central New York leaders and influencers--the people who have the power to make change. Through 100 Conversations for Change, these leaders outline plans for how they can enact change for the better in our community. The first four interview...s will be available here on Tuesday, September 29 as the first event in Syracuse Stage’s re-imagined 2020/2021 season. Interviews five through eight will be released in November. Each interview is approximately 30 minutes long. After viewing the video installment, you're invited to an interactive online conversation with Harrison and participants in the first four interviews scheduled for Thursday, October 8 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. via Zoom. Get the kids to Kirk Park, 1101 South Ave., on Saturday, Aug. 21 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Admission to the party, hosted by 100 Black Men of Syracuse and the Community Folk Art Center, is $15 per participant.
