A great big virtual hug and humble thanks to all our supporters throughout our fundraising campaign! You are the heartbeat of ACT and we can’t wait until we are all able to safely return to the theater again! And an extraordinary thanks to our Junior Troupe alumna, Amanda Foto (Strega Mandi), for hosting our Home for the Holidays pasta-making class and variety show this Sunday. Together, we raised over $2,000! Grazie! Grazie! Grazie! We hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season and a happy, healthy New Year!

Right now, many of us yearn to attend or perform in live, in-person theater productions. And, without the ability to create and perform live productions, several of our fellow long-standing theater companies in Westchester have permanently closed. We are heartbroken for our theater colleagues and friends who have lost their theater home. Those losses will be felt by all of us long after the pandemic ends. ACT is working hard to stay afloat during this prolonged intermiss...ion: we’re keeping the creative juices flowing by preparing virtual events for early 2021, and we are enhancing our organization’s structure and function so we can be ready to bring you top quality live theater when it is safe to do so. On this #GivingTuesday, we hope you can help! Your tax deductible donation to ACT will help us weather this prolonged hiatus. We appreciate gifts of any size, and many gifts will be matched dollar-for-dollar thanks to ArtsWestchester’s Art$Challenge grant. (Thank you to everyone who has already sent a donation for the challenge grant.) Donations can be made at: www.actshows.org

Most of the recent gifts we've received this month will have double the impact because they will be matched dollar-for-dollar via the ArtsWestchester Art$W Challenge program. As we begin our 46th season, ACT celebrates all the memorable theater experiences we have shared with you, and we look forward to presenting future productions when it is safe to do so. Thanks to people like you we have survived and thrived, keeping quality theater close to home. As an affiliate of ArtsWestchester, ACT is eligible for a matching grant from their Art$W Challenge program, which runs from now through December 31. If you have not made a donation to ACT in the past two years, your gift will be matched dollar-for-dollar. We ask you to please support ACT at this difficult time with any amount comfortable for you to give. To donate, visit our website: www.actshows.org

HAPPY WORLD THEATRE DAY! While we’re all stuck in quarantine, we’ve been thinking about the times when we didn’t need to practice #socialdistancing. Now more than ever it’s important to know that our theatre community is together in spirit belting and tap dancing! WE OPEN #SEUSSICAL TONIGHT @ 8PM! The ACT Board and staff have been in discussion for the past week regarding the fate of the show and have been monitoring the #Coronavirus updates continually. We will be opening tonight as planned. ACT is keeping a constant watch on the recommendations of NY State and Westchester Health departments. We understand that no public organization can completely mitigate the risk of COVID-19. As of right now, the recommendations of the Westchester ...Health Department (with our county being the hardest hit by the virus currently) does not currently have in place a requirement to cancel public gatherings, outside of a specific area in New Rochelle. The current New York State guidelines issued by Governor Cuomo yesterday state that gatherings of 500 or more be postponed, which does not apply to our performances. The Westchester County Health Department recommends that the people in the following categories do NOT attend public gatherings: People who are sick and/or have flu like symptoms Older adults People with serious chronic medical conditions like: heart disease, diabetes, lung disease etc... In addition to the professional cleaning service that was hired on Monday to scrub the entire theatre, auditorium and performance spaces, ACT has committed to personally clean the theater with disinfectant before and after each performance. This includes bathrooms, kitchen, every chair, doorknob, railing and communal surface. Our kitchen staff will be wearing gloves during the selling of concessions and antibacterial soaps/hand sanitizer is available for all of our patrons. For any questions and/or concerns, please contact: [email protected] When the news is all bad When you're sour and blue When you start to get mad You should do what I do Tell yourself, how lucky you are! Sincerely, the ACT Board of Directors
