The Syracuse Operation is pleased and honored to unveil our Tomorrow Wall. The Tomorrow Wall represents the extraordinary care that is provided by our EMTs and Paramedics every day. The Tomorrow Wall is inspired by patients of cardiac arrest who are able to walk out of the hospital and experience many more Tomorrows! With the help of bystander CPR, and collaboration with our partners in EMS, our providers are able to provide Advanced Life Support at the highest level. Our goal is to run out of space on the wall! I have no doubt, that will be soon!

Last weekend, our crew participated in a prevention and education event at Hopps Memorial Church. It was a great turnout and we were excited to educate Syracuse residents about how to care for themselves and how 911 can help! #wearamask

Today and every day, we remember the brave first responders and the thousands of innocent lives that we lost on 9/11. Please take a moment today in remembrance of the victims and their families.

Happy Labor Day! Today is a day to celebrate the contributions workers have made to their local communities and this country. A special thanks to our GMR family.... You all continue to answer the call at a moment's notice, not just in your local communities but also on deployments across America. In recent times, you all have been on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic, you have helped transport people to safety during Hurricane Laura and you have assisted with evacuations during the California wildfires. All of this in addition to continuing to serve your local communities. We appreciate everything that you do to make our communities a better place. See more

As this heat wave comes to a close (thankfully!), don't forget these summer safety tips to safely spend time in the heat: Have fluid source readily available Plan ahead and make sure you drink enough water throughout the day and night to replenish fluids lost during activities. Water will do the trick For most people water will be sufficient enough to keep you properly hydrated. If you are working really hard, you might need to replace calories that are lost due to p...erspiration. A soda or sports drink can help with fluid and calorie replacement. Be careful when drinking alcohol If you choose to drink alcohol, do so in moderation. A good strategy is to alternate alcoholic beverages with water. With alcohol you can only count on about 75 percent of the beverage ending up in the body as fluid. Listen to your body When the temperatures and activity levels increase it’s even more important to listen to your body! Don’t take in too much fluid It might sound a little strange but be careful of drinking too much fluid. This can lead to the opposite of dehydration overhydration. Be safe and happy summer!!!

AMR of Central New York 19.07.2020

Today kicks off EMS Week, a time to honor YOU. This is traditionally the time you share stories, enjoy camaraderie and celebrate with each other. During the pas...t several years, this has also been the time you have selflessly volunteered to educate communities on the vital life-saving measures of compression-only CPR and stop the bleed training. In some ways, the magnitude of the 2020 EMS Week and the need to recognize your commitment is greater than all the previous EMS Weeks put together. You deserve to celebrate and be recognized for your professionalism and tireless compassionate care in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. On the home front, you’ve responded to multiple changes in protocols as this virus evolved, always stepping up to provide expert care in your communities. And several of you signed up to deploy to New York and New Jersey, heading into the COVID-19 epicenter. Your courage on the front line of this enduring crisis is heroic. Although the various shelter-in-place orders are delaying the in-person celebrations to the first week of October, we want to personally recognize you for all you have accomplished and what you bring to your profession. You’ve heard many people say nothing is the same this year. And in one important respect that’s true. This year, communities, local leaders, residents and national organizations have recognized what we have known all along: EMS professionals are on the front line of providing important care for people in urgent need. When someone needs you, you respond. There is no greater gift than having the expertise, skills and passion to make other people’s lives better. You do this every day. We also know your care rarely stops with the clinical patient interventions. You hold the hands of family members, giving them a name and number to call when they’re unable to leave with their loved one. You check back in on them. You’ve even returned to mow a lawn because you knew the owners wouldn’t be able to get to it. And in the worst of times, you’ve comforted spouses when they lost the love of their life. You don’t ask for the limelight and you don’t ask to be called a hero. One thing we know is that you deserve both. We also recognize how incredibly challenging this year has been. We’ve watched colleagues in our company and in the EMS industry stricken with COVID-19. Many have made a recovery and for that we are extremely grateful. For our friends and colleagues who have succumbed to COVID-19, we are truly heartbroken. You have always supported each other, and we commit to supporting you through these times. Although we can’t be together this week to celebrate and honor you, we want you to know that the entire Global Medical Response family supports you and recognizes everything you do. You deserve all the appreciation and well wishes coming your way. We hope this is a happy, safe EMS Week for each of you and we look forward to celebrating with you in October. Our best to all of you. We’re grateful for what you do. Randy Owen, Ted Van Horne, Dr. Ed Racht

Happy Nurses Day! Today marks the start of #NursesWeek, as the largest group of healthcare professionals in the country, nurses have always played a vital role... in providing compassionate care in communities nationwide. Now, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, that role along with their courage and dedication, is amplified even more. In the GMR Family we have nearly 1,700 nurses who each play a unique role in allowing us to provide care to our patients at a moment’s notice. This week, and all year long, we celebrate you! #NursesWeek #NursesDay
