Peanut had both her eyes removed and replaced with silicone implants or "fake eyes". Mom sent us a video showing how much she is back to herself after surgery! Peanut says "I don't need eyes to have fun!"

We would like to thank all of our wonderful clients for their patience over the last week. We are happy to announce we are up and running and every one in the staff has come out the other side of covid-19 (a little tired) but no worse for wear. We apologize for the long waits on the phones as we were inundated with calls as soon as we opened today. Please know we are trying to accommodate everyone the best we can with our small staff. Please continue to have patience and understanding as we catch up with each and everyone of you. Thank you! Stay healthy my friends!

In the last few weeks we have noticed a trend that can no longer be ignored by the staff and management of Animal Eye Care. We have WONDERFUL clients. However, in the last few weeks we have been seeing a growing number of clientele that have been rude, nasty, and downright abusive. ... It is the position of this hospital that in NO WAY will this be tolerated. We are doing our best to stay open, healthy and able to service our clientele and pets of New York State and Pennsylvania. MOST forget that we are a SMALL practice, who only have 2 doctors and 8 supporting staff members. THERE IS NOT AN EYE CARE FACILITY ON EVERY CORNER, unlike general practices. We are NOT an emergency facility that is open 24hrs. We have to service every general practice in New York state and Pennsylvania that calls. Our case load is anywhere from 150-200 clients per week, on top of emergencies and surgeries. Please understand, we are not complaining about our case load, that is the reason we are here, to help pets. We are hoping that we can help people to understand, that we are doing our best to help every pet owner that calls to the best of our ability. So PLEASE, if you are frustrated that you can't come in, know that we are just trying to stay open. If you are frustrated that you can't get an appointment right away, know that there may be other patients that need our help more urgently. We are always willing to work with the referring veterinarian on possible treatment plans UNTIL your pet can get scheduled. We love our clients, 98% are wonderful and VERY understanding. But, when we feel that we are being abused and clients are verbally and/or physically combative, we have to draw the line. Thank you for your understanding. Stay safe and healthy. Animal Eye Care of W.N.Y.

As the New York State moves toward "reopening" businesses, Animal Eye Care wanted to advise their clients of the protocols we will be continuing to follow as we move into June. Contrary to what local news channels have broadcast, we will not be allowing clients into the building for the month of June. This decision will be made by each practice and business owner. This will give us time to put safety protocols in place to protect both the staff and their clientele as we co...ntinue to open up. Like many small animal hospitals, our exam rooms are extremely small and will not allow the proper social distancing during an exam. We are in the process of putting measures in place to hopefully allow 1 client in the room once we open fully. But this will take time. We will continue the "curb-side" service as previously stated in other posts. Please call us from your car when you arrive, a Technician will speak with you on the phone about the status of your pet, phone number to reach you, payment method and wait times. When the technician states its OK to bring your pet in, you will bring your pet into the vestibule, attach his/her leash to the hook attached to the wall, (a technician/assistant will be waiting on the other side of the door), once you step out, they will step in and retrieve your pet for their exam. WAIT IN YOUR CAR, DO NOT LEAVE. The doctor will call you and advise you of what they found on exam. Once the doctor is done speaking with you a technician will speak with you about your pet's medications and next appointment (if needed) and settle the bill. We will repeat the process of bringing your pet to you in the vestibule, we step in with your pet and appointment information, once we step out, you step in and get your pet. For the month of June we will resume normal business hours EXCLUDING Friday appointments. Meaning, existing appointments scheduled for June SHOULD stay scheduled, except on Fridays. We will not be having appointments scheduled that day, however we will be open for medication pick-up and phone calls until noon. We know this is a stressful time for everyone, please be patient. Please be nice. Please know we are doing our best to stay open and safe for all involved. Thank you for your understanding. The Doctors and Staff of Animal Eye Care of W.N.Y.
