November is Diabetes Awareness month - eyecare is very important for diabetics. We can detect signs of diabetes on an eye exam. All diabetics should have an annual eye exam to check the health of their retina.
Don't wait until the last minute! Give us a call to order your contacts, or to set-up an appointment to browse for new glasses. Don't let those benefits go to waste!
We are thankful for all our patients and staff, especially in 2020. May you see gratitude in your lives this Thanksgiving week. Our office will be closed Thursday 11/26 and reopen by appointment only Friday 11/27 8-5 & Saturday 8-1 11/28. Stay healthy!
Happy Halloween from all of us at AOG!
Most FSA and HSA accounts expire at the end of the year. If you want to schedule a routine exam, we suggest calling to schedule that appointment ASAP as we are booking up through the end of the year very quickly! If you are looking to use your benefits on glasses, we are requiring that you schedule an appointment in advance. If you are looking to use your benefits on contacts, you can give our contact lens department a call and everything can be handled over the phone. Beat the rush and don't wait!
We just wanted to make you aware of a small change in policy we will be implementing beginning next week in an effort to make everyone’s visit to our office that much easier in an already stressful world. Beginning Monday October 26th, we will no longer be keeping our front doors locked and requiring patients to call in when they arrive for their appointments. Our check-in process will still include COVID-19 screening questions and a temperature check. We are also still requi...ring appointments for both exams AND optical visits. If you arrive to our office without an appointment, you will be welcome to wait but we cannot guarantee that you will be seen in a timely matter as those with appointments will receive priority. We also ask that you do not arrive more than 10 minutes early for your appointment so we control building occupancy. We are hoping that this new plan will help relieve some stress from both our patients and our staff. We fully appreciate everyone’s cooperation and understanding since we’ve reopened, and thank you for your patience as we navigate through all of the regulations! And as always, please be sure to wear your mask and practice social distancing! Aurora Optometric Group
We encourage regular replacement of contact lenses - that can be daily, biweekly or monthly depending on your brand of contact lenses. Replace your lenses before they start to bother you and call us to order more before you run out. If it's been a year since your last exam, we recommend having the prescription checked and your eyes examined to make sure they are healthy!
Please be aware that our office will be closed between 8am and 10:30am on Wednesday October 7th for staff meetings. Our phones will be off, but you're welcome to leave a voicemail and we will return your call as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding and we apologize for any inconvenience!
Take a blink break - Your eyes will thank you! Using digital devices, we may not blink as often or as completely. Blinking is important to spread tears and prevent dryness and eyestrain. Think to blink!
If you're spending more time in front of the computer & are experiencing more headaches, blur or fatigue, be sure to have your eyes examined. Let us check what the source of your eyestrain and make a recommendation before getting any readers or blue light glasses.
Working from home or virtual learning? Take a visual screen break throughout the day to give your eyes a rest and refocus. #bekindtoyoureyes
