SUNY Binghamton Biomedical Anthropology 28.03.2021

From left to right, Kimberly Raymond and Danielle Julien presented a second poster at this years AAPA meetings. The data for this research was collected from their internships this past summer. This research was conducted on two populations from Prehistoric Chile. The vertebral columns from 99 individuals were analyzed to understand the differences between agricultural and hunter-gatherer societies. Great work!

SUNY Binghamton Biomedical Anthropology 24.03.2021

Masters students, (from left to right) Danielle Julien, Kimberly Raymond, and Brandon Wolfson, presented on their findings at the AAPA conference this year. The second cervical vertebrae of 44 individuals were studied to determine the accuracy of the Wescott (2000) sex estimation method on a middle aged to senescent population. This project was supported by an award from the National Institute of Justice.

Recently accepted to BU's PhD program in the anthropology department, and soon to graduate from the biomedical anthropology program with her masters, Diana Gibson is pursuing research in maternal health among an ancient population of the Andes.
