Here's a flow chart of what happens when someone in school tests positive for COVID-19. #BombersWearMasks #washyourhands

The Ontario County Department of Health has informed the District that one of our teachers at the Middle/High School has tested positive for COVID-19. This teacher was last in attendance on Thursday, January 7. Per privacy guidelines, no additional identifying information can be shared. At this time the Ontario County Department of Health has recommended that one of the pods at the Middle School should quarantine out of an abundance of caution. The District is working in coop...eration with the county to assist with additional contact tracing. We are working to contact those who will be impacted. If you are not contacted you do not need to do anything further. At this time, we believe this new positive case and the quarantines that may result will not impact our ability to remain open for in-person learning at the Middle School. We remain in close communication with the Department of Health as the number of positive cases regionally continues to steadily increase. We have been assured that our efforts with promoting the use of masks, social distancing and the cleaning measures and logistical plans we have in place have been helpful. We urge everyone to continue to be vigilant in taking the following preventive measures: In public, wear a mask and, whenever possible, maintain at least six feet of social distance. Wash your hands regularly, using soap and hot water for about 20 seconds. Avoid touching your eyes, mouth, and nose. Encourage your student(s) to follow our Health & Safety Protocols If your child is ill please keep them home If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. Thank you, Andy Doell

The Ontario County Public Health Department has informed the District that we have had another student at the Elementary School and one staff member at the Elementary School test positive for COVID-19 over the winter break. Per privacy guidelines, no additional identifying information can be shared. The Department of Health has begun contact tracing, but they do not believe this new case will require any students or staff members to quarantine as the result of potential expo...sure. While we do not believe that additional staff or students will need to quarantine as a result of these new cases, it is important to make you aware that we do have several staff members at the Elementary School that are currently in quarantine as the result of potential exposure over the break. We are able to open for in person learning at this time, however, the quarantines have created significant staff challenges. Please be aware that any additional staff absences may result in a necessity to transition some or all of our grade levels at the Elementary School to remote instruction. We will try to communicate the need for that transition, should it be necessary, as soon as possible so that parents can be prepared. We remain in close communication with the Department of Health as the number of positive cases regionally continues to steadily increase. We have been assured that our efforts with promoting the use of masks, social distancing, cleaning measures and logistical plans we have in place have been helpful. We urge everyone to continue to be vigilant in taking the following preventive measures in an effort to help keep everyone safe and in an effort to keep our schools open for in person learning: If you and/or your child have traveled over the break please follow all required quarantine protocols. If your child is ill please keep them home. In public, wear a mask and, whenever possible, maintain at least six feet of social distance. Wash your hands regularly, using soap and hot water for about 20 seconds. Avoid touching your eyes, mouth, and nose. Encourage your student(s) to follow our Health & Safety Protocols If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you, Andy Doell
