Bohemia Fire Department

Shortly before 7pm The Bohemia Fire Department was activated for a vehicle fire at the intersection of Lakeland Ave and the Westbound Sunrise Service Road. Assistant Chief Thompson arrived and updated the location to be the left southbound lane of Lakeland just north of Sunrise and that the fire was a result of a 2 car MVA. Chief Iwanejko arrived and directed incoming engines 1 and 15. Upon Engine 1’s arrival the crew began stretching a hose line while Engine 15 arrived right after and began using the bumper mounted nozzle to knock the flames down till the hose line from Engine 1 began flowing water. The fire was extinguished quickly and 1 driver was evaluated by Community Ambulance Company. All units were back in service by 7pm.
